Appam (ஆப்பம்) in Tamil or appa (ආප්ප) in Sinhala is more commonly referred to by its anglicized name, hoppers, in Sri Lanka. They are essentially the Sri Lankan pancake.

The base ingredient in making this are mainly rice flour coconut milk and yeast. with all the different varieties available it can make to be suitable for vegans and vegetarians as well!

Hoppers come in different forms: Plain, with jaggery and even egg. Here at Veechu we have been experimenting and have also introduced a Nutella based version for our customers to taste.
